This week I have been reading Ezekiel. God spoke through this Old Testament prophet for over 22 years (roughly between 593 and 571 BC). He brought various messages of judgement to Israel as they had rejected God and His ways. However, in these oracles there was always hope...

Do I take any pleasure in the death of the wicked? declares the Sovereign Lord. Rather, am I not pleased when they turn from their ways and live?
— Ezekiel 18:23 The NIV Bible

God’s heart and love for people is revealed here. God does not delight in wiping out bad people. Rather He longs for them to turn from wicked behaviour and to live His ways. God is a God of hope! You may think you are a good person, however we all make good and bad choices, which affect people around us. It’s what called being human! The good news is there is always an opportunity to change. This is what God loves to see. In fact, I believe he delights in seeing people turning from wrong, bad or evil ways. When we turn, embrace God we then find a completely new life! Whatever you have done or are going through you can choose to turn to God! Choose God.
