Gift & Call

I love rhythm. I discovered that I was naturally gifted with it, and so became a self-taught drummer. Later I took a few lessons and played in a number of bands in my youth.
I joined the worship team in church and through drumming became involved with leading worship. For over 30 years I have led worship, in small groups to large summer festivals.
I have trained, equipped and released worship leaders and musicians, and still involved in that to this day! Last Sunday I was playing guitar in our church worship band supporting a new worship leader – who did a fantastic job!
This arena is, and always will be, part of my life, as I believe it is from God. The book of Romans, in the Bible says something about this…
“For God’s gifts and his call are irrevocable.”
God has planted gifts and a call (destiny) in everyone, and that can’t be undone, it’s in our very DNA!
I believe it is up to us to discover, nurture and use these gifts inline with the call that God has put there.
For me this has been true in worship music, and as I have got older, discovered new gifts and callings too!
There is something very satisfying and fulfilling when we align both gifts and calling. As the Scottish athlete and missionary Eric Liddell said, ‘When I run, I feel God's pleasure’.
What is God’s gift and call on your life?
God bless you :)
